In Year 8 Media students get the opportunity to learn about stop-motion animations and then create their own.

From coming up with a story that fits within the theme of ‘Adventure’, to storyboarding, photographing and then using editing software, the students get to explore their creativity and work collaboratively to produce an animation.

The Arts should be about exploration, imagination and fun- and that’s certainly what’s taking place in Year 8 Media.

Another group of excited puppets and Year 7 Drama students, ventured to the Prep rooms this week for the second round of storytelling fun.

With a focus on what makes us unique, the puppets/students shared stories such as Max Lucado’s ‘You are Special’ and ‘Giraffe’s can’t dance’ by Giles Andreae.

“Our moral is to let the little kids know that it is very special to just be you and that God loves you for your specialness.” said one of the puppeteers; a message that is important for everyone to hear every now and again. Thank you to the Prep teachers and students for welcoming us into their space once again and sharing some special time with us.

How cute! Mack was telling me that the big kids had been to their classroom! Grace Wightman that's what he was trying to tell us about the 'not junior school kids' yesterday afternoon!

Last week was very exciting for the Berakah Miniature Show Team (BMST) as they began the show season last Sunday with the Kingaroy Show. 29 students attended and most of them have not been to a show before so it was filled with many firsts and new experiences all around.

It was an early 4am start to drive to Kingaroy, and we arrived back to school to deliver horses and put them to bed at around 7pm. Though there were many tired and weary individuals, adults and children alike, there was smiles all round from such a fabulous day!

Sunday Morning, 25 April, I had the honour of attending the Nambour Dawn Service with 25 of NCC’s finest Year 12 Students. It was a sombre morning of reflection, realising the sacrifice of others that granted our freedom in this nation. It is a true display of a life lived for others, for a cause greater than oneself and our students were profoundly impacted by this service as in the prior years.

We wish to thank and acknowledge the students who represented our College in this space who showed support and gratitude to the current and ex-servicemen and servicewomen of our Nation.
